These two statements perfectly encompass my experience with Pilates. Pain and discomfort are the ultimate obstacles to happiness and fulfillment.
I started practicing Pilates in 2001 after undergoing physical therapy for chronic back pain. It was the natural progression of my physical maintenance and now provides a pain-free existence. Pilates has helped me through many struggles in life, both physical and emotional. After working backstage in Off-Broadway theatre for 16 years, I changed gears and enrolled in the comprehensive program at Core Pilates, NYC completing my certification in 2012. Then in 2018, I completed the Bridge program with Alycea Ungaro at Real Pilates in New York City. I feel Pilates is part of my personal journey. It continues to reveal new ways to think about the mind and body. I am constantly challenged and inspired by what I learn at workshops and with my instructors. My goal is to pass this knowledge & inspiration to my clients so Pilates can help with their fitness journeys.
I have trained people from all walks of life including: professional athletes, dancers, actors, people struggling with spinal degeneration, scoliosis, osteoporosis, joint injuries and pre/postnatal clients. As an instructor, I take great pride in helping clients overcome their challenges & reach their fitness goals. Pilates is a process and a practice. I am honored to guide clients as they gain health, strength, and confidence. My clients know I am with them every step of the way.
